  • Bike rental at the hotel: You can rent organic, hardtail and full bikes free of charge - also available for children and teenagers. As our guest, you can rent e-bike touring bikes, hardtails and fullys from Maxx Bike (from 20 to 29 inches, from XS to XL) at a special price of € 30 per day. More info in our Bike Brochure.
  • Children's bikes, child seats, trailers and helmets of all sizes are also available.
  • Every week, the Ötzi Bike guides accompany you on wonderful bike tours for all levels of difficulty, train your riding technique during a special course (3 guided tours or training sessions in the technical training camp included in the price of your stay) and give you valuable insider bike tips and advice on E-Bikes & cycling in general.
  • We are happy to provide you with advice and assistance and give you recommendations for bike tours in the surroundings.

Our tips for bike tours

In the footsteps of the ancient Romans

By bike or E-Bike through the scented apple orchards and idyllic landscapes of the Val Venosta valley - the sunny biking area! Take a bike ride on the cycle path along the Via Claudia Augusta - whether alone, as a couple or with the kids.
  • Starting point: Hotel Waldhof (5 minutes by bike to the cycle path)
  • Route: Val Venosta cycle path to the Lake Resia (74 km).
  • Duration: approx. 6h 25 min
  • Return: You can return by bike or with the Val Venosta train. We also recommend doing this tour in the opposite direction.

Biking fun to Merano, Val Passiria Valley or Bolzano

How about a bike tour to the charming spa town of Merano? Or through the idyllic landscapes of the Val Passiria Valley? You prefer cycling southwards? Then get into the pedals and set off to discover Bolzano, the provincial capital, or the refreshing Lake Caldaro ...
  • Starting point: Hotel Waldhof (5 minutes by bike to the cycle path)
  • Route: At the Rablà cycle path, turn left towards Tel. At the dam cross the main road and follow the cycle path to Merano (8 km). You can now cycle to Val Passiria (45km), to Bolzano (30km) via Sinigo and Lana, or to Lake Caldaro (50km) via Appiano and S. Paolo.
  • Duration: Merano: approx. 40 min / Val Passiria valley: approx. 2h 25min/ Lake Caldaro: approx. 3h 20min / Bolzano: approx. 3h

Monte Sole mountain – The trail paradise in Val Venosta Valley

Here the biker's heart rejoices! What we don’t lact in the Val Venosta Valley are trailrocks of the finest.
  • Starting point: Castelbello
  • Route / Uphill: 15 km warm-up on the bike path or 15 minutes by train, then the ascent to the trail paradise on the Monte Sole mountain begins - to the Ratschillhof farm (1,285m - 6.5 km) or tp San Martino al Monte (1,740m - 9.5km). Alternative ascent by cable car.
  • Duration: approx. 1h (Rablà - Castelbello) - 11.5 km
  • Downhill single trails: Monte Sole trail, Tschilli trail, Annaberg easy trail, Panorama trail

Monte Tramontana mountain – Exciting wood trails

The Val Venosta Valley is also rich in shady forest trails – a refreshing alternative to the heat, especially in summer ...
  • Starting point: Laces railway station
  • Route / Uphill: From the Laces railway station you cycle for approx. 75 minutes (ascent: 500 m altitude difference) to the chairlift valley station (1.100m), passing through Tarres. From here, the chairlift takes you to the Alpe di Tarres (1.939m), while your bike rides up on the bike shuttle.
  • Duration: approx. 2h 5 min (Rablà –Laces) - approx. 20 km
  • Downhill trails: 4-vince-13, Trail Alpe di Tarres, Trail Roatbrunn, Trail 23, Trail Holy Hansen, Trail Barbarossa

At 2.760m with the Ötzi Bike Academy

Off on your racing bike and high up on the Passo dello Stelvio. The experienced guides of the Ötzi Bike Academy lead you on routes on which even top athletes train and which are regularly ridden by the professionals of the Giro d'Italia.
  • Starting point: Hotel Lindenhof, Naturno (6 km) at 9 am
  • Route / Uphill: 89 km of serpentines. 1.900 m of ascent and descent. A bit tiring, but definitely worth it - if only for the overwhelming panorama!
  • Duration: approx. 7 hours (return around 4 pm)
Please note: Registration for the guided bike tours of the Ötzi Bike Academy must be made by 9 pm the previous evening. The programme and all tour details can be viewed on the tour map in the Bike Corner at reception.
