Our food offer for kids and teens
South Tyrolean food with is mixture of Mediterranean and Alpine dishes is something really special! And we want our guests of all ages to enjoy it. For that reason, we offer a ¾ board like for our adult guests adapted to the taste of the younger ones.
The ¾ board for young gourmets includes:
- Buffet breakfast with homemade crêpes, waffles, cake, and much more
- Afternoon buffet with different types of ice-cream, homemade cake, and some small dishes
- Dinner with salad and appetizers from the buffet, and a varied children’s menu to choose from
- Furthermore, we are happy to cook according to your wishes or to prepare gluten or lactose-free meals. On sunny days, the whole family can enjoy breakfast and dinner on our terrace.
What Waldhof has to offer for the young ones
For the family holiday to be perfect, we take care of entertaining our young guests. We want them to fully enjoy their holiday in the Vinschgau valley and to take wonderful memories home with them. Therefore, in addition to the spa treatments for young wellness enthusiasts, we offer a variety of services.
The following is provided for free:
- Children’s bicycles of all sizes, helmets, trailers, and child seats for the parent’s bikes
- Bathrobes for kids, child carriers, highchairs, buggies, Thule Cross strollers, cots, baby monitors, floaties, swim rings, electric kettles, changing pads, bathroom stools, and bottle warmers
- For a small fee, you can rent an e-bike for kids in the sizes 20°, 24°, and 26° - this really is a highlight
Sleeping accommodation:
- The following sleeping accommodations are provided if necessary:
- Cot bed with side bars
- Comfortable extra bed (1.80 x 0.80 m)
- Built-in bunk bed (2.00 x 0.80 m) with removable fall out protection
- Pull-out couch
Childcare:
- Monday to Friday afternoon from around 3:30 to 6 p.m. during the main holiday season (Easter, Pentecost, summer, autumn, Christmas). Outside these periods, this service is offered on request. The young guests will:
- Create their own artwork, which can of course be taken home
- Play with others (e. g. board games, tombola, etc.)
- Paint with watercolours, window colours, wax crayons, etc.
- Play outside at the playground
Children’s playroom (55m2):
Equipped with play kitchen, arts and crafts table, building blocks, Lego bricks, table soccer, air hockey, climbing wall and many games, which can be borrowed at the reception
Open every day from 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Our playground:
Equipped with a big trampoline, a slide, a climbing wall, a swing, table soccer, table tennis, a sandbox, a covered arts and crafts table, and different games like badminton, boccia, and mini tennis, which can be borrowed at the reception

- 150 m away: a big, public playground in the shadow of the forest
- 5 minutes by bike or a 20-minute walk away: a big, public playground at the valley station of the Aschbach cable car
- 15 minutes by bike away: a big, public playground near the town centre of Plaus
- 30 minutes by bike away: a big, public playground in Naturns
The best leisure activities for families in the surroundings
You definitely should not miss those great activities! With the following varied nature, sports, or cultural activities both children and parents will have fun and learn many new things! For a user- or entrance fee, you can do many different things in the surroundings of Waldhof, e.g.:
- beach volleyball in Rabland during summer, only a 20-minute walk away
- skateboarding in Rabland, only a 20-minute walk away
- a cycling path where you can also inline skate, only 5 minutes by bike away
- the world of iceman Ötzi at archeoPark in the Schnalstal valley: a varied open-air museum where you can bake bread, try to make fire with a firestone, and much more
- the museum of nature in Bozen
- the fun train station in Staben
- the train world in Rabland: the biggest model railway museum in Italy
- trekking with lamas, climbing classes, archery, and many other activities organised by the tourist association, can be booked directly at Waldhof
